ACTIVATION
To activate a partnership with our organization, benefitting communities are required to make a financial investment in their water project. When a community is invested in their growth, they show a commitment to undertaking the responsibilities of securing clean water.

RESEARCH
We design our solutions based upon the discoveries we make about a community’s water crisis. Each community’s water crisis is different, so our team calibrates its solutions appropriately. We discover past experiences from failed solutions, existing community collectives, future hopes for developmental growth, and more – so that we can learn from the past, fit solutions for the present, and create a clear path for the future.
KINSHIP
50% of water projects fail due to a lack of community involvement, which is why kinship is an important starting point for our partnerships. Before partnering with a community, we make sure that there’s a strong kinship between community members and its leaders. Community harmony is important to bring strong support and motivation during all stages of clean water construction and care.

CREATE
Based on our research during the Discovery Phase; strategies for robust water systems, economic empowerment, and maintenance education are created for each community. Our organization emphasizes appropriate solutions that are realistic for the resource-constrained. This means, no-fuel systems for communities without electricity, and building with replaceable parts within 20 miles of the benefiting village. Each community is given the customization it needs so that clean water is feasible, and continues to flow for years to come.

WATER INDEPENDENCE
We set up our communities for complete Water Independence. At Water Collective, we believe in amplifying the strengths of our partnered communities and filling in the necessary gaps to help them achieve their vision of water. Once those gaps are filled, communities work towards Water Independence so that their water system can be self-sustained by current and future generations. Water independent communities have complete ownership over their water system, shifting away from reliance on foreign aid. Learn more about Water Independence.

COLLABORATION
We strive to deliver high quality services for our partnered communities. Each community has a different set of water-related challenges that sometimes require inputs beyond our capacity. To prevent reinventing the wheel, we partner with groups who are experts in their fields when the need arises. This means stronger, smarter solutions with more impact.
